In the summer of 2005, Torsten Dobberstein and Waldemar "Val" Seifert found another playground for their passion for vinyl - when starting their own Morning Dew Records label.

For several yearsVal had been friends with California surf and psych legend Merrell Fankhauser. Merrell agreed to have Morning Dew Records reissue three of his legendary albums, most sought after by record collectors - FAPARDOKLY, HMS BOUNTY and MU - all of them coming from the original master tapes!

Torsten's connection to Texan guitarist and singer Chris Whitley brought the first current artist to Morning Dew Records. Chris was enthusiastic about the idea of releasing an album on vinyl exclusively and recorded his 14th record in New York specificly for Morning Dew Records.
